La Grèce va poursuivre les évacuations de milliers des réfugiés et migrants regroupés sur ses îles, qui attendent en majorité dans des centres d’enregistrement et d’accueil surpeuplés. Jeudi dernier, après sa rencontre avec le président turc Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Alexis Tsipras avait déclaré s’être mis d’accord sur « de nouvelles mesures de coopération dans le contexte de l’accord Union européenne-Turquie ».

Un tribunal turc a commencé à juger, ce lundi 11 décembre, l'auteur de l'attentat contre une discothèque d'Istanbul commis dans la nuit du Nouvel An 2017 qui a fait 39 morts, pour la plupart des touristes étrangers. Abdulkadir Masharipov, un Ouzbek qui a avoué avoir commis cette attaque revendiquée par le groupe Etat islamique (EI), comparaît avec 56 complices présumés.

Une soixante d'eurodéputés, réunis à Strasbourg pour la session plénière du Parlement européen, a profité de la visite de Benyamin Netanyahu ce lundi 11 décembre à Bruxelles pour envoyer une facture au Premier ministre israélien. Ils réclament des compensations après la destruction de salles de classe en préfabriqué et de panneaux solaires financés par l’Union européenne en Cisjordanie.

La Première ministre britannique Theresa May s’est félicitée ce lundi 11 décembre, devant le Parlement, du compromis trouvé avec la Commission européenne sur les conditions de la sortie de l'UE du Royaume-Uni. Elle estime qu'il permettra un Brexit « harmonieux et ordonné ». Mais après les déclarations contradictoires de certains des ministres de Theresa May ce week-end, l’opposition se montre tout sauf convaincue.

On 8 December, the Chair of the Subcommittee on Human Rights, Mr Pier Antonio Panzeri, commemorated and honoured the victims of the crime of genocide and urged that the international community act.

"In September 2015, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution, initiated by Armenia, establishing 9 December as the International Day of Commemoration and Dignity of the Victims of the Crime of Genocide and of the Prevention of this Crime. 9 December is the anniversary of the adoption of the 1948 Genocide Convention. The purpose of this International Day is to draw attention to the role of the Genocide Convention in combating and preventing genocide and to commemorate and honour its victims."

On 7 December, MEPs from the EP's Subcommittee on Human Rights (DROI) and the EP Delegation to EU-Turkey Joint Parliamentary Committee held a discussion on the state of play in the area of the rule of law and fundamental freedoms in Turkey.

The increasing harassments of human rights defenders, academics, civil servants, journalists, and artists culminated with the recent detention of Mr Osman Kavala, one of the most prominent and respected figures in Turkey's arts and culture scene...a bridge-builder, a man of dialogue and reconciliation," said Pier Antonio PANZERI, the Chair of the Subcommittee.

Le Premier ministre israélien, Benyamin Netanyahou, s'est clairement opposé à la doxa européenne sur la question de la Palestine et du statut de Jerusalem que les Etats-Unis souhaitent voir devenir capitale d'Israël.

The next meeting of the Subcommittee on Human Rights will take place on Wednesday 24 January 2018, from 09.00 - 12.30 and from 15.00 - 18.30, and on Thursday 25 January from 09.00 - 12.30, meeting room to be confirmed.

Representatives of NGOs as well as other organisations are requested to accede to the EU Transparency Register and follow the procedures therein for access to the European Parliament.

Sous la pression de la réglementation ou par crainte des risques, les investisseurs institutionnels, assureurs, fonds de pension et de retraite, ont commencé à réduire l'empreinte carbone de leurs portefeuilles en vendant les actifs les plus nocifs pour l'environnement. Les banques accélèrent les financements des projets verts, notamment via les « green bonds », un marché en très forte croissance, explique notre partenaire, La Tribune.

Dans le principal pays bénéficiaire de la PAC, les craintes concernant la « nationalisation » de la PAC 2020-2027 sont nombreuses,tant du côté des élus que des syndicats agricoles.
