Der Rat hat heute eine Verordnung angenommen, mit der die Aussetzung aller Zölle, Kontingente und handelspolitischen Schutzmaßnahmen in Bezug auf ukrainische Ausfuhren in die EU um ein weiteres Jahr, bis Juni 2024, verlängert wird. Durch die Verlängerung dieser Maßnahmen zeigt die EU erneut ihre unerschütterliche politische und wirtschaftliche Unterstützung für die Ukraine, die nach wie vor der grundlosen und ungerechtfertigten militärischen Aggression Russlands ausgesetzt ist.

WTO: Rat billigt Übereinkommen über Fischereisubventionen zur Förderung der ökologischen Nachhaltigkeit Der Rat hat am 25. Mai 2023 einen Beschluss angenommen, mit dem er im Namen der EU den Abschluss eines Protokolls der Welthandelsorganisation (WTO) betreffend das Übereinkommen über Fischereisubventionen gebilligt hat. Das WTO-Übereinkommen über Fischereisubventionen ist das erste WTO-Übereinkommen, in dem im Einklang mit dem Ziel der Vereinten Nationen für nachhaltige Entwicklung Nr. 14.6 die ökologische Nachhaltigkeit im Mittelpunkt steht.
