The U.S. Navy recently demonstrated a new capability designed to make autonomous aircraft easier to plan, operate and integrate into future combat missions.

The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Stout (DDG 55) departed Naval Station Norfolk, Sept. 21, 2026, to begin deployment operations.

On September 13, 2026, the U.S. Navy and the Royal Navy successfully conducted the proof-of-concept launch of an exercise U.S. Mk 48 Heavyweight Torpedo from an allied uncrewed platform, the Royal Navy's XV EXCALIBUR, at the British Underwater Test & Evaluation Centre (BUTEC) in Scotland.

Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna welcomed the agreement reached between the United States, Denmark, and Greenland, noting that it will reinforce security in the Arctic and across the wider Arctic region.

Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Allison Hooker met today with Nepal's Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal in New York. Under Secretary Hooker extended the United States' heartfelt sympathies to all of those affected by the devastating floods in Nepal, including the families of the approximately 70 Americans who remain unaccounted for.
