More than 100,000 people took to the streets of London on Saturday in response to a call by British right-wing extremist Tommy Robinson. Alongside Tesla CEO Elon Musk, right-wing politicians from all over Europe, including France's Éric Zemmour, incited resentment against foreigners, the media and the British government. The commentaries reflect dismay, but not surprise.

After Russian drones entered Polish airspace last Wednesday, further incidents on Nato's external border are heightening the tensions between Moscow and the Western military alliance. The Polish army shot down a drone that had flown over government buildings in Warsaw on Monday night. Two Belarusians have reportedly been arrested in connection with that incident. A Russian drone also penetrated Romania's airspace at the weekend.

Austria's liberal education minister Christoph Wiederkehr has proposed fines of between 150 and 1,000 euros for parents who fail to cooperate with schools. The penalties would apply in cases such as parents refusing to talk to teachers when their children are suspended, or if they skip compulsory summer school without a valid excuse. Au terme d'une importante réunion tenue, mardi 16 septembre 2025, le parti Bloc républicain (BR) a procédé à la désignation du colistier du candidat Romuald Wadagni à l'élection présidentielle de 2026 au Bénin. La formation politique de la mouvance présidentielle a porté son choix sur l'actuelle vice-présidente de la République, Mariam Chabi Talata épouse Zimé Yérima pour former le duo candidats de la mouvance présidentielle.

C'est Mariam Chabi Talata, qui sera la colistière du candidat Romuald Wadagni à l'élection présidentielle de 2026 au Bénin. Le secrétariat exécutif du parti Bloc républicain a procédé à sa désignation, mardi 16 septembre, au terme d'une importante réunion.
La vice-présidente de la République selon les militants BR, est une « femme de convictions et d'actions, engagée avec constance dans le service public ». Elle incarne à la fois « la rigueur, la proximité avec les populations et le sens élevé de l'État. Son parcours illustre un engagement continu en faveur du développement du Bénin et de l'émergence de la femme dans la sphère publique », précise le communiqué en date du 17 septembre 2025, et qui a sanctionné la réunion du secrétariat exécutif du parti.
Mariam Chabi Talata selon le BR, apparaît comme l'une des personnalités les mieux qualifiées pour accompagner le candidat Romuald Wadagni dans la poursuite des réformes et des actions de développement initiées depuis 2016 sous le leadership du Président Talon, et dans l'accélération de la dynamique de progrès socio-économique pour notre Nation.
Le secrétariat exécutif du BR se félicité de ce choix éclairé et stratégique, et en appelle à une mobilisation forte, massive et constante de toutes les militantes et de tous les militants du Bloc Républicain autour du DUO WADAGNI–CHABI TALATA.

Thanks to an initiative of the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan, more than 150 women from Karakalpakstan have enhanced their IT and digital literacy skills. They also successfully acquired practical expertise in e-commerce and digital marketing, laying a solid foundation for the further development of their own businesses based on digital technologies.

The training sessions, which were attended by women from Nukus and nearby districts, concluded with an award ceremony held at the local branch of IT Park Uzbekistan — a modern and rapidly growing innovation hub in the capital of Karakalpakstan.

This marks the fourth initiative jointly implemented by the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan and IT Park Uzbekistan since 2022. Over this period, more than 500 women from various regions of the country have taken part in the training programs.

"Empowering women is one of the OSCE’s key priorities. Providing women with digital skills opens new opportunities for personal and professional development and contributes to the sustainable development of the region, as well as improving overall quality of life," said Antti Karttunen, OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan.

Participants of the trainings highly appreciated the opportunity provided.

“This training was a major step forward for me,” said training participant Mehrinur Uzakbayeva. “Before, I hardly used a computer, but now I confidently navigate digital tools, have learned to sell online, and promote products through social media. What’s especially valuable is that such initiatives create new opportunities for women to unlock their potential. The training gave me not only knowledge but also the motivation to grow my business – and maybe even create jobs for other women in the future.”

Such efforts clearly demonstrate how targeted support and quality education can empower women to contribute meaningfully to the sustainable development.
