Ha csak Varsó az utolsó pillanatban nem csinál hátraarcot, az Európai Bizottság jövő héten kezdeményezheti Lengyelországgal szemben az EU-Szerződés 7-ik cikke szerinti eljárás első fokának elindítását. Mateusz Morawiecki, a debütáló lengyel miniszterelnök ezt csütörtöki sajtótájékoztatóján már szinte kész ténynek vette.

A V4-ek 35 millió euró pótlólagos pénzügyi támogatást nyújtanak egy Olaszország által koordinált projekt megvalósításához, ami a líbiai határvédelem megerősítését célozza. Az összeget testvériesen négy egyenlő részre bontották a V4-ek. Egy EU-diplomata szerint a gesztus javítja a légkört és a szolidaritást, de nem helyettesítheti a négy tagállam menekültek elosztásában való részvételét.

Egyesek azt szűrték le a mostani vitából, hogy ha júniusig nem sikerül közös nevezőre hozni a tagállamokat a dublini rendszer reformjáról, akkor konszenzus helyett minősített többséggel kell kicsikarni a döntést a kérdésben.
